Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston endorses Harris, emphasises abortion rights

The high-stakes US presidential election, set to take place on November 5, is just 23 days away. The race is between Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, 59, and Republican nominee Donald Trump, 78. As the election hots up, the endorsement game is also intensifying, with Hollywood celebrities using their platforms to support their preferred candidates for the presidency.
Bryan Cranston, the 68-year-old actor best known for his role in the hit series Breaking Bad, recently announced his support for Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
At an event while speaking in support of the Democratic Party, Cranston gave an emotional speech explaining his endorsement and linking it to the issue of abortion rights. Cranston brought up his daughter and the importance of her freedom of choice.
“It’s important to me, for her life now and in the future, to have the fundamental right to freedom of choice. No one but her should decide what happens in her own life,” said Cranston.
“And that’s why I am enthusiastically supporting Vice President Kamala Harris,” he added.
In addition to supporting Harris, Cranston also voiced his endorsement of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Harris’s running mate in the election.
Other big-name celebrities have also weighed in with endorsements during this election cycle.
Taylor Swift publicly endorsed Kamala Harris shortly after the presidential debate, which took place on September 10, hosted by ABC News.
Meanwhile, US comedian Eddie Griffin has come out in support of Donald Trump, criticising Kamala Harris by calling her a “liar”.
As the US presidential election reaches its final stretch, American voters will soon cast their ballots on November 5, deciding the successor to President Joe Biden, who withdrew from the race on July 21.
